Gerthilde Voyage

Poem (Canso):

I will tell you now their story
Tell the story of their ruling
Ruling and not merely reigning
Jason King, Gerthilda Drottning

Win they did at Spring Crown Tourney
Jason fought for Gerthild fairly
Win the day he did that tourney
Crowned as prince and princess they were

All there rejoiced and paid homage
To their Highness Prince and Princess
Kari and Sinclair’s heirs chosen
Kingdom safe with heirs now chosen

Time it passed some fast some slowly
Coronation came it quickly
King and Queen step up that weekend
All is ready for the big day

Loki chuckles somewhere sneaky
Waves to Ran who shakes her robes out
Summon storm to ruin weekend
Loki rubs his hands together

Kingdom cruises on undaunted
Rearranges royal schedule
Ceremony set next weekend
Coronation of the Sun Gods

Loki rubs his hands together
Summons he a swarm of insects
Nasty little crawling insects
Fill the bed of Jason Kinslae

Gerthild goes to roll the bed up
Builds a bedroll which starts crawling
Jason mighty king disgusted
Gerthild calmly burns the bedding

Ponte Alto loses Crown site
Duchess panics calls for Crown bids
Jonathan steps forth with Crown site
King and Queen say ‚have it there then‛

Crown site locked up, all is ready
Oops we goofed says Betsy Jeff Penn
Double booked says Betsy Jeff Penn
Take next weekend Betsy Jeff says

Jonathan says small site problem
Here’s another site says JB
We want this one thanks though JB
Okey dokey says Lord JB

Oh but wait we’ve stepped on Scanfest
Scanfest scheduled for that weekend
Axel says he’ll go to Scanfest
Alianor might go there with him

Nothing we can do say we all
Can’t have Crown November Second
Must have Crown on weekend after
C’est la vie y’all so say we all

So we call this reign a bad name
Voyage of the Damned we call it
Call it that and sell some t shirts
Voyage of the Damned continues

War of Wings is next on schedule
Let’s leave Voyage for one weekend
Someone else can have the Damned thing
Go to this big war and have fun

I am King says Jason Kinslae
King by right of arms says Jason
I have made a knight says Jason
I now make one more says Jason

I will make a knight of Grimr
I am King by Right of Strong Arm
I say Grimr is worth knighting
I will do this thing says Jason

Disagreed did Jason’s order
At the manner of the message
Not so much about poor Grimr
But the manner of the message

Too bad says good Jason Kinslae
I am king it’s my decision
I am king and you are not king
I will do this though you argue

Stood he there and said quite loudly
I do this it is my right to
I won crown not you no other
I won crown it is my right to

I am sure there are among you
Knights who now despise me roundly
I care not I am the king now
On this our cruise of the dam’ned

If we're damned upon this voyage
We will be damned for what we are
Royals ruling not just reigning
Rule how best to lead this kingdom

King and Queen we rule this kingdom
Rule this kingdom as we think best
This is how it’s been for ages
As the sun sets on the west wind

We do not ask your permission
We will do this ‘til we step down
Nor do we expect permission
To be asked us when we step down

We will now hold our crown tourney
If you are so much offended
By our ruling not just reigning
Please tell us by not competing

For we would not ask of you to
Strain your morals by competing
To be heirs of who you loathe so
Do not disgrace our Crown Tourney

Time will pass some fast some slowly
All this crap will be forgotten
They will move on to new crises
But we’ll have at last Sir Grimr

Who we know is a good person
Who will not disgrace his order
Who has always acted knightly
In the eye of this observer.

Mighty Jason Gracious Gerthild
I am finished with my telling
If you never rule again then
You have done a thing worth knowing.

You have ruled you have not just reigned
You have stood for what you felt right
You have done what felt right to you
This is more than many others.

And the PS of this story
This is only the beginning
Less than two months since your crowning
There are many weeks to still go.
